Keeping patients on trials, in 36 countries

Illingworth Research Group runs patient concierge services for clinical trials: getting patients to their visits, paying their expenses, arranging travel, and keeping them on a trial that might run for years. Patients who drop out for avoidable reasons delay trials and the treatments behind them, many of them for ultra-rare diseases. The problems we had to solve for IRG’s PatientGo:

  • The clinical trial process is complex
  • The system has to automate a large number of tasks
  • Regulatory processes are restrictive
  • More than 8 different user types need access

A patient management system and mobile app, built and run by an embedded team

We have worked with Illingworth Research Group for more than five years as an embedded team extension to their Patient Concierge Services. The system is a full back-office platform for patient, site and visit management, with compliant regulatory data handling and more than seven external systems plumbed into one place, plus a mobile app for patients covering visit details, expenses and reimbursements, travel requests, appointments and contact with their specialist team. Our analysts, engineers and technology leads develop and support it continuously, so IRG’s people can concentrate on what they do best: looking after patients.

Tappable have been a trusted partner for over five years, and what has stood out to me is the way they’ve taken the time to understand our business, our processes, and the environment we operate in at Syneos Health. They don’t just respond to a brief, they think ahead, challenge constructively, and bring ideas that make the work better. Over the years, they’ve become a genuinely valued extension of the team and have played an important part in supporting how we’ve evolved and grown. I have a huge amount of trust in them.
